When I set Power at 50%, no temp rises. I checked the air, it's cool.  I turned machine off, restarted again, but problem persists.

In the last working batch, I set Power to 70% constant for a few mins to test the limit. But the temp suddenly drop from 280 c to 100c. I suspected the machine can't handle high temp, and might got burn out?

Hey,

Have you gotten assistance on this? I have the same version and had similar issue where I tried charging the machine to 240C. Temperature would hover around 240C and the power drops down to 0% for a few seconds, dropping temp to around 170C before the power would come back up. Then the cycle repeats.

Got in contact with ROEST team, they've remotely updated my firmware and it's working fine now. I have not charged it to 240C since but it's currently working fine with 230C charge.

Hope it all works out fine for you.

Regards,
Pao

Thanks, Already in contact with the support team.

I might get a few more heating elements as backup, so that my roasting schedule is not interrupted. From your experiences, how long would you expect one would work? And what are some typical factor that would cause it to broke? I wonder if I did anything wrong.

Our experience is that when a heating element breaks, its usually a problem with the heating wire itself that has been there from the production. A single heating-element has been roasting 3-4000 batches without a problem.

One thing to keep in mind is to make sure your roaster is around 40 deg Celsius when you turn it off.
